Paul Reiser’s “There’s Johnny!” Comes To Peacock

LOS ANGELES, CA-- “There’s Johnny!”, a scripted comedy series created by Paul Reiser (“Mad About You”, “Stranger Things”, “The Kominsky Method”) and David Steven Simon (“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, “Mad About You”), will now stream on Peacock starting on November 1.

Set in the early 1970s, “There’s Johnny!” takes viewers on a fictional journey behind the scenes of NBC’s classic late night program, “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”, the longest running and most successful talk show in American television history. “There’s Johnny!” spotlights the golden era of the beloved show, featuring an all-star cast that includes Jane Levy (“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”), Tony Danza, Roger Bart, Camrus Johnson and Ian Nelson.

The show follows wide-eyed 19-year-old Andy Klavin (Nelson) who leaves his home in small-town Nebraska for the first time and stumbles his way to Burbank, CA and lands a job at “The Tonight Show”. The show follows Klavin getting caught up in the glamorous lifestyle of sex, drugs and lust that are part of show business.-

With exclusive access to “The Tonight Show” vault, “There’s Johnny!” incorporates actual vintage clips from episodes airing in the 1970s, weaving them seamlessly into the show’s storyline, including classic performances of comedy legends like George Carlin, Rodney Dangerfield, Albert Brooks and Steve Martin.

“Johnny Carson and “The Tonight Show” was such an integral part of my life growing up, and creating “There’s Johnny!” has been such a long labor of love for me,” says Reiser, who also appeared as a guest with Carson many times. “It was enormously gratifying that Jeff Sotzing and The Carson Entertainment Group have entrusted us to honor Johnny’s legacy this way, and that it has now landed at Peacock feels like the show has finally found the perfect - and rightful - home.”

“There’s Johnny!” is produced by Comedy Dynamics and Carson Entertainment Group. Serving as Executive Producers along with Reiser and co creator David Steven Simon are David Gordon Green (who also directed the first episode), Brian Volk-Weiss, Michael Pelmont, Cisco Henson and Matt Ochacher of Comedy Dynamics, and Jeff Sotzing of Carson Entertainment Group.
