Today, musician, writer, actor, director, and poet Phil Augusta Jackson shares his newest single, “Get It” – a hype trap/hip-hop track that KEXP describes as “a bouncy party anthem that showcases Jackson’s genre-pushing range”. The track is accompanied by a video that the Emmy-nominated Jackson (Insecure, Key & Peele, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) produced himself. Directed by Nic Stanich (Troye Sivan, Tori Kelly, David Guetta), the “Get It” video captures Phil roaming Redondo Beach, the location where he was inspired to create his forthcoming EP The Redondo Tape, and firmly planting his stake as a musical visionary and Black creative.

Out September 4th and releasing independently, The Redondo Tape is a six-track EP full of creative detail from Phil’s artistic mind. Produced by Nick Lee (Demi Lovato, Dillon Francis, Poo Bear), The Redondo Tape combines some of the best elements of Black music culture: from soul-searching R&B to the driving beat and storytelling of hip-hop. “The whole project feels like an experiment -- an experiment of feelings and sounds,” says Phil.
