PJ Morton Releases "Please Don't Walk Away," First Single of 2021
New Music Follows Third GRAMMY Win in Three Straight Years

Today, PJ Morton returns with "Please Don't Walk Away." The brand new R&B and soul single marks Morton's first solo release since winning the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Gospel Album, his third consecutive GRAMMY win in three years. Over a silky bed of piano and bass, pairing twinkling rhodes with a sedate groove of hand claps and muted snare, the song's emotions swell with its rising walls of horns and harmonies. Contemplating the potential end of a relationship, Morton's yearning vocal performance and forthright lyricism put "Please Don't Walk Away" in the same lineage of romantic R&B hits like "Say So," "How Deep Is Your Love," "First Began" and more that have made him one of the most acclaimed and beloved artists in contemporary soul music.
"'Please Don't Walk Away' is in the spirit of when men were honest and willing to be vulnerable in music," says PJ Morton. "It came from a real place when I thought I was going to lose the love of my life. I just tapped into those feelings. And as it happens sometimes, something beautiful came from something tragic."
