Raitt Breaks Quarter-Million

'Slipstream,' the newest album from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bonnie Raitt, has proven itself to be one of the biggest independent music triumphs of 2012. Since its release 16 weeks ago, 'Slipstream' has shipped over 250,000 units and has seen Raitt's biggest Billboard Chart debut in almost 20 years. The first release on Raitt's own Redwing Records, the "vital, fresh, urgent" (NPR) album has also consistently staked its ground on the Top 200 Chart debuting at #6, and has remained #1 on the Blues Chart since its release. Not only is 'Slipstream' one of Amazon's 5 best-selling albums of the year, it is also one of the top 5 best-selling albums of 2012 on the Billboard Independent Album chart.

Lauded with critical acclaim, bolstered by a huge US Tour and considered one of the best albums of 2012 so far by Rolling Stone Magazine, 'Slipstream' is ongoing proof of Raitt's continued popularity and relevance in American music.
Raitt opens up about her first album in seven years on CBS This Morning:
