Rikas Releases Lovestruck New Single Produced By Jonathan Rado “Up All Night,” Ahead Of Their SXSW Debut

Today, German indie-pop band Rikas releases new single “Up All Night,”produced by Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado (Whitney, Father John Misty, Weyes Blood) and co-written by Benny Sings. “Up All Night” is an energetic collaboration that captures the joy in losing sleep over a new love. Lovesick lyrics and staccato keyboard imbue the track with a giddy feel, conveying the feeling of being willingly “out of touch” that comes with being absorbed in another person.

Rikas are working on a new album at Hansa Studios in Berlin, following in the footsteps of Hansa alumni like Depeche Mode and David Bowie.

In a heartbeat Rikas turn an evening without a plan, a movie without a plot, into something unforgettable. Ferdinand plays drums, Sam is on bass, Chris plays guitar, Sascha guitar and keyboards. They all have their unique superpower, but none of them stands in the spotlight alone. After singles like “Overthinking” or “I Always Think Of You (When I Listen To This Song)” gathered millions of streams, Rikas became a live phenomenon in Germany and word of mouth started spreading across the borders. They’ve enjoyed radio success with the fourth-highest charting EP and a top 100 debut on College Radio, a top 30 single at SubModern, and airplay from 30+ stations in North America. Rikas has performed over 300 shows including festivals such as Fusion Festival or MS Dockville in Hamburg and supported artists like Milky Chance, Alt J or Alice Phoebe Lou around Europe. They traveled to Amsterdam and worked with Benny Sings on new music for “Goodbye Sunshine EP” that was later produced in LA with Jonathan Rado. Rikas are looking forward to touching down in the “amerikas” for SXSW and performing their new material for stateside audiences.
