After closing the 14-year gap between 2007's Grammy-sweeping Raising Sand and 2021's chart-topping Raise The Roof, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss have reunited once again. Earlier this month, the duo kicked off their first tour in over a decade, delivering nearly a dozen cities and counting "a master class of a concert," as the Chicago Tribune raves. "Bluesy undercurrents, country accents and roots strains coursed through the songs. Mystery and wonder dominated; nostalgia never surfaced." From NYC's Forest Hills Stadium to a majestic set on the Bonnaroo mainstage, their latest live show has been called "sublime" (Oakland Press) and "enchanting" (Times Union), and they are about to bring it to even more cities this summer.
With the addition of Franklin, TN's FirstBank Amphitheater, Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion, Mashantucket's Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino and New York City's Beacon Theatre, all announced today, Plant and Krauss will continue raising the roof through mid-September. Tickets for the Beacon Theatre are on-sale at 9am ET this Friday, June 24th, and each of the remaining new dates will go on-sale at 10am local time that day, with pre-sales for all four starting tomorrow. A rescheduled performance at Atlanta's Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park has also been set for September - find links and more information at plantkrauss.com/#tour.
Beginning in August, the second leg of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' Raising The Roof tour also includes stops at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Austin's Moody Amphitheater and more listed below, following an extensive UK and EU run that launches at Glastonbury this weekend.
Backed by an ace band of guitarist JD McPherson, who is also opening all of the US performances, plus drummer Jay Bellerose, bassist Dennis Crouch, multi-talented string player Stuart Duncan, and Viktor Krauss on keys and guitar, setlists have included favorites from both Raising Sand and Raise The Roof, as well as reimagined arrangements of Led Zeppelin cuts like "The Battle of Evermore," "Rock & Roll" and "When The Levee Breaks."
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are currently nominated for Duo/Group of The Year at the 2022 Americana Honors & Awards, in addition to Album of The Year for Raise The Roof, which was produced by T Bone Burnett and spent over 20 weeks at #1 on the Americana chart.
