Sahana Srinivasan is an actress, filmmaker, and comedian born in Houston and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is currently pursuing a degree in film at the University of Texas at Austin. The Netflix original series Brainchild” is her silver screen debut, but Sahana began performing on stage at the age of six by participating in local talent showcases and skits, dancing Bharathanatyam (Indian Classical Dance), and playing the piano. Her film acting career began at Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting for Film, a studio in Lewisville, Texas. Sahana gained agency representation with Kim Dawson (Dallas) and Innovative Artists (Los Angeles) through workshops and seminars at the studio. In the early stages of her film acting career, Sahana landed the role of “Chandra” in the Walden Media movie Space Warriors, and played herself in a Nickelodeon sketch comedy pilot. Currently Sahana performs standup/improv at local venues in Austin and Dallas and creates original short films and music videos. Her comedic style can be best described as a reflection of her cultural background and personal experiences through satire and absurd/alternative characters. By producing and participating in creative work that places a priority on minority representation, Sahana hopes to inspire more Indian artists to go into the acting/film industry. After graduation Sahana plans to move to LA or New York to continue pursuing her many creative passions.
