Earlier tonight (12.11), paranormal thrillers, content kings and entrepreneurs Sam and Colby won the 2019 Streamy Award in the Overall Action or Sci-Fi category, earning their third nationally recognized award in the last six months. Earlier this year, the duo won the Teen Choice Award for “Choice YouTuber” and were recently honored as the “Breakout Creator” at the 2019 Catalyst Content Awards Gala.
In the duo’s new series “The Castle” (available Dec. 15), Sam and Colby embark on their second International journey. Filmed over four days in London and Scotland, the series depicts their investigation of the haunted Neidpath Castle. They capture evidence of the paranormal and are visited by a recurring entity from their Queen Mary series.
This 5-part series follows “The Graveyard” (4 episodes, 12.1 million collective views), “The Origin” (5 episodes, 14.5 million collective views), “Witches Forest” (5 episodes, 15.6 million collective views) and “Stanley Hotel” (6 episodes, 20 million collective views). Additionally, the duo’s content thrived beyond the YouTube platform with the debut of their Snapchat Original docu-series called “Stranded” (Bunim/Murray Productions).
The two started their journey wishing to teach others the same life lessons that they had learned through their friendship — self-assurance and happiness — by creating content based around humor, authenticity and exploration. Bound by spooky and sometimes paranormal places, the two have built a career by bringing millions of fans alongside them on a journey into the lesser known, seen and understood spaces of the Earth.
Beyond exploration, Sam and Colby brought their passion of helping others to life and recently started a new, subscription-based, interactive online platform called Meta Life. Its goal is to teach highly applicable life skills in a way that is engaging, fun and communal. Meta Life features videos, posts and challenges, created to help members develop life skills, set goals, overcome challenges and get the most out of their lives. Additionally, the duo’s popular lifestyle brand XPLR recently partnered with Hot Topic for a limited time capsule collection, available online now.
