Sarah Brightman: Chart-Topping Debut, Bocelli Reunion, Space Travel Update

Sarah Brightman's first independently released album, the "great" (Yahoo!) and "daring" (All Music) 'Dreamchaser' (Simha LLC), opened at #3 on Billboard's Indie Chart and #1 on its Classical Chart. The album features Brightman's indelible interpretations of songs by Sigur Rós, Elbow, Cocteau Twins, Wings, Mike Oldfield and others.

Brightman also reunited with Andrea Bocelli for the first time in five years to perform their signature duet "Time To Say Goodbye" on German TV, as well as singing a new song from 'Dreamchaser,' "One Day Like This."

Brightman also gave the Wall Street Journal an update on her space journey, a lifelong dream that helped inspire 'Dreamchaser.' "I'm officially a cosmonaut in training by the Russian Space Agency," she said. "I went through the first set of medicals and passed all of them." Read more here: http://shorefi.re/Y6xjU7

Brightman launches a world tour in June in Asia, followed by two months of US shows in September, with dates including NYC's Radio City Music Hall (9/21), LA's Gibson Amphitheatre (11/1), and Chicago's Akoo Theatre (9/28). "[I want to make the shows] as beautiful as possible with the feelings, in the visual sense, behind me," Brightman told Billboard. "I'm using just a huge, round screen that almost looks like a satellite behind me. We're going to play amazing footage while I sing, so it's going to be very simple but very moving."
