Tickets will be available Friday Jan 15th at 11AM ET on musicof.org
Given the overwhelming response to the March 31st Music of David Bowie Tribute at Carnegie Hall from both fans and musicians following the death of Mr. Bowie, a second show has been confirmed for the following evening, April 1st at Radio City Music Hall.
Michael Dorf, the show's producer said, "The sad coincidence that our previously planned concert at Carnegie Hall was announced on the same day as David's passing on Sunday, resulted in a tremendous outpouring from fans, friends and fellow artists wanting to show their respect and adoration for his deep repertoire. Our phones were going off the hook."
The Carnegie Hall show sold out in two hours. Fortunately, Dorf found that the following evening was available at Radio City Music Hall. Tickets for that April 1 concert will go on sale this Friday, Jan. 15th at 11am at www.musicof.org. 100% of the net proceeds from the Radio City show will benefit the same non-profit music education programs as the Carnegie Hall series. Though the line-ups for the two shows will differ, some artists will play both nights, and the format will be the same with twenty artists performing songs from the David Bowie Catalogue each evening.
Tony Visconti, the Grammy-winning producer and Bowie's long-time collaborator, will serve as leader of the house band Holy Holy and as the evening's musical director. Holy Holy features Visconti on bass and Woody Woodmansey on drums, both original members of The Spiders from Mars. "Our tribute, planned months ago, is about my dear friend's stellar life and extraordinary creative output. In our hearts he will always be immortal," he comments.

The Music of David Bowie concerts will benefit the following organizations: Young Audiences New York, Little Kids Rock, Church Street School of Music, The Center For Arts Education, TON, Grammy in the Schools and the D'Addario Foundation. Over one million dollars have been raised to date by Dorf's Carnegie shows.
Michael Dorf is uniquely suited to create the impressive and eclectic rosters he assembles each year as a founder of two seminal NYC music venues: the Knitting Factory, which he started in 1987 and sold in 2002, and City Winery, the venue he founded in 2008 in NYC, that now has locations in Chicago and Nashville, and will expand to Atlanta and Boston this year. For nearly thirty years, he has programmed for stages across the globe.
Working alongside him as an Associate Producer for the show is Shlomo Lipetz, City Winery's National Programming Director. For the past 8 years, Lipetz has been overseeing the musical programming in all of the City Winery's locations.
