Seeker Music Congratulates Shaboozey and J-Kwon, “Tipsy” Hitmakers, on Record Billboard No. 1 Hit

John Katovsich, VP of Sync; Gary Miller, SVP of Sync; Evan Bogart, CEO; Steve Melrose, Global Head of Creative; J-Kwon; Hank Snow, J-Kwon’s Manager; Austin Max, Catalog Marketing Manager; Jordan Banks, Creative Coordinator.

Seeker Music congratulates Shaboozey, J-Kwon and The Trackboyz(Mark Williams and Joe Kent) on their remarkable achievement: their hit single, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," has now topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 consecutive weeks, twice as many weeks at than any other No. 1 this year.

When Seeker Music, founded and led by hit songwriter Evan Bogart (Rihanna’s “SOS,” Beyonce’s “Halo”), acquired the copyright of J-Kwon’s "Tipsy" as part of a broader deal with the UK’s Notting Hill Music in 2022, it was because the company saw the untapped potential of the entire catalog, an approach that is at the core of their strategy when looking to acquire catalogs.

By creating its innovative Samplémoose platform which delivers a collection of loops, beats, & flip-starts that Seeker’s creative team curates (and identifies as easy-clear to aid in licensing), Seeker gives producers and musicians a way to reimagine tracks, giving them the tools to flip them into fresh hits. "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is a perfect example of how great songs can evolve through the creative collaboration and the power of strategic catalog management that Seeker has championed.

In addition to Shaboozey’s success, Seeker’s Catalog, and Samplémoose, have already been behind several other noteworthy flips these last few years. Pop Smoke’s “What You Know Bout Love,” which re-imagines Ginuwine’s “Differences” into a multi-format #1 hit single, Coco Jones’ "Double Back," which revitalizes SWV’s classic "Rain," has also become a standout hit, PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “LoseMyMind” which samples & flips DMX’s “Party Up (Up In Here)”, Chris Brown’s “Freak” which freaks Nelly’s “Air Force Ones” and Teyana Taylor’s “Freak” and Megan The Stallion & Sza’s “Freaky Girls”, both based on Adina Howard’s "Freak Like Me," just to name a few.

These songs are a testament to how Seeker’s unique approach to catalog acquisition and its song-centric, songwriter-led approach, combined with its creative strategy, including Samplémoose, create endless opportunities for artists and producers to craft new hits from their incredible catalog.
