LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2013 – Semetric Ltd., the parent company of Musicmetric – which tracks online fan trends in real time for over 800,000 artists and 10 million album releases – has invested $5 million raised from VC funding into its U.S. expansion and new features for its Musicmetric Pro service, allowing users to incorporate data from iTunes and Spotify. Both additions further Musicmetric's mission to improve the music industry's ability to understand and measure how fans interact with artists and their music.
Musicmetric Pro is a comprehensive dashboard compiling data from sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Soundcloud, LastFM, Bit Torrent networks – and now iTunes and Spotify. The tool shows real-time metrics with unparalleled specificity, which allows users to make measurable decisions on tour planning, advertising, monitoring, and A&R. Subscribers can instantly compare online trends across all platforms in a single place, and can overlay their own data against that of any other artist in Musicmetric's database.
Heading up Musicmetric's newly created U.S. operation is Executive Vice President Daniel Savage, an industry veteran with more than two decades' experience in senior executive positions, bridging the creative and commercial worlds. He is joined by Mark Tindle, Senior VP of Sales & Business Development, and Liz Cimarelli, Director of Sales & Business Development.
Said Savage, "The wealth of experience and expertise that Mark Tindle and Liz Cimarelli add to the U.S. team is a huge boost to our growing presence in the states. We know that Musicmetric Pro has proven itself as an essential tool to the music industry and we look forward to its continued advancement as we commit to investing back into our products."
"Having the ability to collect data that measures performance is vital in today's culture of immediacy," said Gregory Mead, CEO and President of Semetric. "The expansion of Musicmetric Pro to include iTunes and Spotify data, along with the valuable insights we already collect from Bit Torrent networks and socials, makes our service the most comprehensive measurement tool available for the music industry."
"The entire industry is on a learning curve, finding new ways to understand consumer behavior patterns," observed Jeremy Silver, Executive Chairman of Semetric. "Data literacy is the single biggest skills gap in the global music industry today. We hope very much that we can help companies fill it and, in the process, become more fan savvy and successful with their artists."

About Musicmetric:
Musicmetric tracks online trends in music and makes this data available to those working in the music industry. The data covers activity on social media, mentions and sentiment on news and blogs, sales and file sharing activity on the BitTorrent network. On the BitTorrent network Musicmetric, geographically and anonymously tracks the number of downloads any artist or release gets to a city level, around the globe, every hour. The downloads measured are of actual content downloads (the target file - e.g. the mp3 files) of the torrent rather than the torrent file itself.
