Shore Fire Media would like to congratulate our clients whose recordings won eight GRAMMY awards last night, a showing that highlights the breadth of our roster and our commitment to new artists with wins including Best New Artist for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, as well as awards in classical, blues, and rap categories.
Our clients appeared on the stage all night long. During the pre-televised awards, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite played a song from their GRAMMY-winning album ‘Get Up!’ while comedian Tig Notaro was a presenter. On the GRAMMY telecast, legendary bassist Nathan East kept the groove down during Daft Punk’s performance of “Get Lucky" (which also featured another guest, East’s old friend Stevie Wonder). 2014 Musicares Person of the Year Carole King, got a standing ovation for her piano-and-voice-only mashup with nominee Sara Bareilles, before they presented the Song of the Year Award to Lorde for “Royals.” Country royalty Martina McBride and Zac Brown presented Country Album of the Year to a surprised Kacey Musgraves. Finally, Trombone Shorty and his band Orleans Avenue played with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ during their historic “Same Love” “wedding” performance.
And congrats to Lana Del Rey, whose “Summertime Sadness” was the subject of Cedric Gervais’ GRAMMY-winning Best Non-classical Remixed Recording.
Carole King was honored as the 2014 Musicares Person of the Year with an all-star gala on January 24, that featured performances by Shore Fire clients Martina McBride, Zac Brown and Trombone Shorty.
The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards were held at LA's Staples Center and broadcast live on CBS.
