Bonnie Raitt Joins Musicares Honoree Joni Mitchell on Telecast; Sylvan Esso Present at Premiere Ceremony
Shore Fire Media congratulates our clients who received a collective seven GRAMMY Awards last night, six of which were in Best Album categories ranging from Global Music and Jazz Vocal to Traditional Blues and Folk. Further highlighting the breadth of the company’s roster, ten-time Grammy winner and recipient of the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award Bonnie Raitt joined 2022 Musicares honoree Joni Mitchell onstage during the telecast to introduce a performance by Brandi Carlile, and Best Dance/Electronic Album nominees Sylvan Esso, in their first Grammy appearance, presented a number of awards at the Premiere Ceremony.
Cedric Burnside won his first-ever Grammy in the Traditional Blues Album category for I Be Trying, and Rhiannon Giddens won her second Grammy and first as a solo artist in the Best Folk Album category for They’re Calling Me Home. Other highlights include Angelique Kidjo’s win in Best Global Music Album for Mother Nature, bringing her career total to five; and Esperanza Spalding’s win in Jazz Vocal Album for Songwright Apothecary Lab, which likewise brings her career Grammy tally to five. For their contributions to Jon Batiste’s We Are, PJ Morton and Trombone Shorty each earned an award for Album Of The Year.
The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards were held at the MGM Grand Las Vegas and broadcast live on CBS. The GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony was live-streamed internationally at GRAMMY.com
