Ariana and the Rose

Inspired by the nights of her adopted homes of London, NYC and LA, as well as the polar excitement of love and loss, the pop auteur showcases her evolution of dance-floor cool from her upcoming four-song EP 'Retrograde,' out March 24. These new songs feature production contributions from Tom Fuller, Me Not You and RKCB, and they orbit the same meticulous, metallic pop universe created by Robyn and Kate Bush.

"The Death March Tour" shows off the Austin psych-rock masters' signature menacing fuzz guitar and slow-building psychedelic earworms. The four-piece band created new album 'Death Song' (April 21 via Partisan) during the recent election cycle, reflecting an emotional climate dominated by division, anxiety and unease.

Eric Pulido and other members of Midlake team with Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Jason Lytle (Grandaddy) and Fran Healy (Travis) to form this indie supergroup, or as Pulido puts it, "a poor man's version of the Traveling Wilburys!" Debut album 'Volume 1' comes out April 28 via Dualtone.

Benjamin Booker

Booker's new album 'Witness' (June 2 via ATO) is his most ambitious work, delving deep into his passion for eccentric soul, R&B and blues. It draws on William Onyeabor's 70s African psych-rock, Freddie Gibbs and Pusha T, while never straying too far from the garage-punk intensity that made his self-titled 2014 debut a creative breakthrough. These 10 new, original tracks were all written by Booker, produced by Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby) and mixed by Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes).

Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson takes his solo project on the road for the first time and plays songs from a debut album, 'Youngish American' (Columbia/30th Century Records), produced by the Black Keys' Pat Carney. Stereogum calls Tomson, who wrote and recorded all the instruments, "a clever and insightful songwriter overflowing with ideas," ideas that tackle early-30s ennui, domesticity and pretending to be Elvis.

Brian Burton and his 30th Century Records label present the ambitious 'Resistance Radio: The Man In The High Castle Album' (April 7). Produced and created by Burton and Sam Cohen, 'Resistance Radio' is an imagined soundtrack to the Amazon Original Series, 'The Man In the High Castle' featuring Beck, Kelis, Norah Jones, The Shins, Angel Olsen, Benjamin Booker, Karen O and more covering songs from the show's early 1960s time period.
