Versatile Artist Aaron Hoffman (aka SonReal) Announces The Aaron LP Available May 10 Globally Via Black Box

The Aaron LP is the much-anticipated new album from eclectic singer, songwriter and genre-bending artist Aaron Hoffman, professionally known as SonReal. Available globally on May 10th via Black Box, the album is an apex. It is the very moment when artist and songwriter discover their truest, most comfortable and most dynamic self. It is the moment when years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears come into focus and you are finally able to lay your soul bare for the whole world to see. It is the moment when SonReal and Aaron Hoffman become one and the same.

I am overwhelmingly excited to announce my second studio album,” shares SonReal. “I poured my blood, sweat and tears into this body of work with people I love, admire and trust. I am losing my mind.”

Co-produced in LA by Trevor Muzzy, the ten tracks on the Aaron LP are lush, deliberate and expansive. Hoffman and Muzzy poured over every detail together during a four month period, ensuring that this album would be SonReal’s masterwork. Whether its folk-tinged acoustic ballads like the album opener “Fearless” and “1000 Highways”, the soul-infused tracks “Healing” (ft. Jessie Reyez) and “Quit”, or the intensely personal joints “Voicemail” and “Ted”, every song is a deeply relatable look into the person behind the music - Aaron Hoffman. Of course, he still has bars as evidenced by tracks like “Parachute”, “Dive Bar” and the album closer “Back To You” — but those bars are now a prime example of SonReal’s ability to create and support a broader, more ambitious endeavor – the Aaron LP.

What has become obvious as you look back on SonReal’s career is that he has never been comfortable being placed inside of a box. We have witnessed an incredibly diverse talent with a colossal mind, attitude and ability to stay true. In addition to being a torchbearer for a generation of genre-bending artists, SonReal is always pushing boundaries in his music and in his visual art, continually seeking more. Tracks like the CRIA Platinum-certified “Can I Get A Witness” and “Problems” from the critically lauded One Long Dream LP (2017), were the first indication that SonReal had more to say as a songwriter, and more to accomplish as an artist.

With years of international touring and more than a dozen notable award nominations including 6 JUNO Award and 11 MuchMusic Video Award nods, SonReal remains ahead of the curve with an intrinsic ability to stay adaptable and genre agnostic. The singer, songwriter, and visual artist from British Columbia burst onto the scene in 2014 with the quirky now-viral video “Everywhere We Go”, which to date has garnered 22-million views adding to the 75-million collective views and over 100-million audio streams he’s earned. With an inherent and candid ability to blend alternative-pop and rap with soul, hip hop and pure pop influenced vibes, SonReal’s versatility is pure perfection in a musical climate that applauds creative flexibility – opening the door for the next stage of Aaron Hoffman’s career as a fully-realized artist.
