Soulful Singer Danielia Cotton Sets Up Benefit To Help Wrongly Jailed Man

Rocker Will 'Testify' on Behalf of Al Crotzer at Cutting Room April 4th

Danielia Cotton is an exhilarating live performer with a huge, wise-beyond-her-years voice that can be heard on her album 'Rare Child', out May 20th on ADA/Adrenaline. She is also willing to give her time and talents to those in need, like Floridian Al Crotzer.

In 1981, a jury found a wrongly accused Crotzer guilty of crimes he didn't commit, and a judge sentenced him to 130 years in prison. In January 2006, his conviction was thrown out when DNA evidence and eyewitness testimony proved he was not involved in the crime. The Florida legislature voted down a measure that would have compensated him for those lost years, so on April 4th, at New York's Cutting Room, Danielia will perform a benefit show to help a man whose life and resources were ripped away from him. Proceeds from the show will go to The Innocence Project of Florida, Inc. (http://www.floridainnocence.org), a non-profit organization that fights for the rights of those wrongfully incarcerated.

Says Crotzer, "Danielia is as kind as she is talented and beautiful. It's incredible to be a free man again, and my family and I will forever be grateful for everything she is doing for us."

At a time when reports show that more than 1 in 100 adults in the U.S. are incarcerated, helping those who don't belong there is more critical than ever before. Join Danielia April 4th as she takes the stage for something greater than even her own emotional and boundless voice.
