St. Vincent Debuts Music Video for "New York”

Adds October 7 Los Angeles Date to "Fear The Future Tour ”

The music video for St. Vincent’s new song “New York” debuted today. Her first new song in two years, “New York” was released earlier this summer and deemed a Pitchfork Best New Track, “pure breakup gold” by Rolling Stone and “a lovely devotional about the long, tight hold a place can have on your heart, and self-conception” by the NY Times. The video was directed by celebrated visual artist Alex Da Corte, his first time working in the music video format.

Says Da Corte: "I think Annie's New York is the New York of my dreams-one that is blurry and fractured, dreamy and flat. It is the Toontown to my Hollywood. It is beautiful but slightly out of reach."

St. Vincent recently discussed “New York” on Song Exploder. “‘New York’ is really a composite for me – it’s everybody I love in that song, it’s my whole life in a song,” she says on the program: http://songexploder.net/st-vincent

She was also just profiled in the New Yorker: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/08/28/st-vincents-cheeky-sexyrock
