Sylvan Esso Earn 2022 GRAMMY Nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album

Free Love Marks Amelia Meath & Nick Sanborn's Second Career Honor in The Category, Following 2017's What Now

"Sylvan Esso may be a band of just two people, but what they're building together now goes way beyond that"

Vanity Fair

Congratulations to Sylvan Esso, who are proud to have just earned a 2022 GRAMMY nomination for one of the past year's "most resonant, warm, necessary albums" (Entertainment Weekly): Free Love. The achievement marks the second time that the duo of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn have received a nomination in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, following 2017's What Now LP.

Since the release of Free Love in September 2020, Sylvan Esso have continued to chart "a radical new path for the music industry," as Vanity Fair describes in a recent profile. From reimagining the possibilities of an album rollout amidst the pandemic, to cultivating an ever-expanding musical community, Free Love has encompassed not only some of the best music of the band's career, but a stunning concert film, an experimental podcast series, Meath's video directorial debut, new worlds created with Animal Crossing, collaborations with Moses Sumney, Teddy Geiger, Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper, and more, while surpassing 50 million streams.

After months of remote performances for the likes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CBS Saturday Morning, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and NPR's Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts, Sylvan Esso brought Free Love highlights like "Numb," "Ferris Wheel,""Rooftop Dancing" and "Frequency" to live audiences for the first time this fall. Across 30 dates, Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn played their first shows as a duo in more than three years, as their Shaking Out The Numb Tour reached LA's Greek Theatre, Firefly Fest, two nights at NYC's Terminal 5, and sold-out stops throughout the country.

On the heels of the GRAMMY Awards, Sylvan Esso will return to the road again in 2022. Tickets to their two hometown, headlining shows at the Historic Durham Athletic Park are on sale here, featuring special guests Yo La Tengo, Indigo De Souza, Little Brother and Mr Twin Sister.
