Sylvan Esso & WITH Band To Host SuperJam At Bonnaroo 2021

Sylvan Esso has unveiled a remix of their song "Numb," created by Teddy Geiger. "Numb" is a highlight from the Durham, NC duo's 3rd album Free Love, which was released last September on Loma Vista Recordings and met with career-best raves. KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic premiered the "Numb (Teddy Geiger Remix)” yesterday and it's now available everywhere. Geiger is an acclaimed solo artist and in-demand songwriter and producer who has recently worked with Niall Horan, Caroline Polachek, Shawn Mendes and many others. "Teddy took the bones of Numb, kept the idea of a serious back beat, but brought out the softer, romantic parts of the song,” says Sylvan Esso about the remix.

The remix arrives on the heels of the announcement that Sylvan Esso and the 8-piece WITH band will host the annual late night SuperJam at Bonnaroo 2021 on Saturday, September 4th. Sylvan Esso and the WITH band first performed together on a fall 2019 tour that included multiple sold out shows at historic venues including the Beacon Theater in New York City and Disney Hall in Los Angeles. The band features a dream team of players from a tight-knit artistic community that perform with Bon Iver, Wye Oak, Hiss Golden Messenger, Mr. Twin Sister, Hand Habits, and Mountain Man.

Sylvan Esso had a remarkable and prolific 2020. The year included the release of their 3rd full-length album Free Love, a feature-length live concert film documenting their fall 2019 tour called WITH (watch their performance for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), the release of a 6-episode experimental podcast called Shaking Out The Numb, and the WITH LOVE EP that was surprise-released in December. The corresponding 45-minute WITH LOVElive concert featuring Sylvan Esso and the WITH band was also just released on YouTube. Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn have also been collaborating with other artists over the past months, including Sanborn’s co-production of the just-released Flock Of Dimes album.

Revisit other recent Free Love remixes that include “Ferris Wheel” from Terrace Martin (featuring Robert Glasper) and this deep house take on thesong from Maya Jane Coles.

Sylvan Esso has produced some of indie pop’s most enduring songs in recent years and achieved a career milestone by crossing a half billion streams worldwide. Free Love led to performances on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and CBS This Morning Saturday, and was deemed “one of the year’s most resonant, warm, necessary albums” by Entertainment Weekly. Their Shaking Out The Numb podcast - a revealing exploration of the creative heartbeat of the duo - was released in November and recently featured in Vulture’s podcast roundup: “I was left with the compulsion to immediately buy the record once I was done with it.”
