Today, one-person tour-de-force Tash Sultana announces her highly anticipated debut album 'Flow State,' out August 31st on Mom + Pop Music. To accompany the announcement, Tash has released lead single "Salvation," which premiered today via Triple J. Watch the official, Glenn Mossop-directed video for "Salvation," in which Tash skydives over her home country of Australia.
"I wrote this song when I realized I could be better than the things that I'd done in my past that I regret," says Tash. "That I am the creator of my own narrative and can always continue to grow and move forward into being a better person and can always make better decisions, that it's okay to accept you've fucked up from time to time."
All of the songs on 'Flow State' are produced, written, performed and arranged by Tash herself. Tash plays every one of the 15 instruments and sounds that feature throughout, including saxophone, pan flute, grand piano and guitar, to name a few. The album was engineered by Nikita Miltiadou, mixed by Dann Hume and mastered by Andrei Eremin.
Tash Sultana has been playing music since her grandfather gave her a guitar at just three years of age, but it hasn't been an easy ride. Tash used fake IDs throughout high school to play open mic nights around Melbourne, using it as a platform to experiment with her original material and get her music heard, in addition to busking regularly on the streets of Melbourne.
Stories of Tash's mesmerising talent eventually began to spread and before long, her Facebook and YouTube videos were receiving tens of millions of views. Now reaching far beyond the streets of Melbourne, Tash Sultana's passion for music has thoroughly engaged a global audience who are hungry for this next phase.
Tash Sultana continues to broaden her global audience and appeal through her incredible live performance, featuring at internationally renowned festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella Music & Arts Festival, Governor's Ball and more. To date, Tash has amassed over 175 million streams globally for her 'Notion' EP, which earned her praise from the New York Times, Billboard, NYLON, Pigeons & Planes and more, an NPR Tiny Desk concert, and her US national TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Last year, Tash sold out every single date on her first ever US tour before ever setting foot in the country, returning just a few months later for another completely sold-out tour that saw her headlining even bigger venues. This fall, Tash will return to the US for another headlining tour, dates to be announced soon.
