ON TOUR WITH THE WAR ON DRUGS IN NOVEMBER FOLLOWED BY BIGGEST NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINING TOUR TO DATE
The Barr Brothers’ ‘Queens of the Breakers’ is out today on Secret City Records, a glowing album that speaks to the raw, elemental power of reflection, forgiveness, loss, and growing up.
The new record has received an abundance of early attention and critical praise : 4 stars in Q Magazine (UK) and Rolling Stone France, 9/10 in Exclaim! (CA) while the early released tracks found champions over at NPR, BBC, CBC and more. On the BBC airwaves, Radcliffe and Maconie premiered ‘You Would Have to Lose Your Mind’ while Lauren Laverne called it one of her favorite tracks of the year. This particular track has already garnered over 1 million combined streams online. Bruce Warren at NPR ‘World Café’ premiered ‘Queens of the Breakers’ calling it a perfect illustration of the band’s attention to musical detail with memorable results. The first radio single in North-America, “It Came to Me,” as been #1 three times already on the CBC Radio2 chart in Canada while the band witnessed their strongest debut at radio in history in the United States.

Featuring brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, and harpist Sarah Page, The Barr Brothers will embark on a massive international tour next month that begins with a European run with The War On Drugs followed by the band’s biggest-ever North American tour to date. See below for all dates.
‘Queens of the Breakers’ takes its name from The Breakers, a Vanderbilt mansion perched atop Newport, Rhode Island’s rocky coastline. As a teenager, Brad was part of a mischievous group of friends that would descend upon Newport dressed in their mothers’ clothing; the better to shock the tourists. It's a vehicle for reflection: a tight group of friends that grew apart, now seen through a Terrence Malick 'Tree Of Life'-like haze.
