‘Master Volume,’ the new album from amp-blowing Juno “Breakthrough” rock & roll trio The Dirty Nil, is out today via Dine Alone Records. With heavy-hitting riffs, raw vocal angst, and stadium-worthy production courtesy of Seattle grunge vet John Goodmanson, “the band set out to make a perfect rock record and they succeeded” (Vice Noisey). With guitars and vocals by quintessential, star-studded rock posterchild Luke Bentham, basslines by Ross Miller, and drums by Kyle Fisher, the album crystallizes the hard-and-fast living energy of punk youth through a refreshing self-referential lens.

Recorded after a whirlwind 350+ shows in three years that saw them share stages with the likes of The Who, Against Me!, The Menzingers, and more, the band set out to make an album that they could play live to bigger crowds, while retaining a raw, almost nostalgically bombastic energy. With cheeky, flirtatious lyrics reflecting on everything from the underworld of the basement circuit, to car wreckages, and more serious topics like the experience of loving an addict, ‘Master Volume’ is a study in controlling chaos, and totally ripping it out.

The band heads out on their first US headlining tour next month, gracing America’s cities with a live show that combines 80s-music-video-RAWK! confidence and a technical prowess that makes their natural-born magnetism and star power unmistakable. They’ll play the “future super-hits” (NME) of ‘Master Volume,’ along with the “swaggering” (Brooklyn Vegan) basement-bangers that have won them praise from Billboard, Stereogum, Pitchfork, and more.
