With a hometown hero story fans can’t help but root for, Virginia-bred thrashgrass outfit The Jack Wharff Band return with their new song “Small Town Heart,” a celebratory ode to the hometown communities that shape small-town America, out today (8.7) via Big Machine Records.

Written by band members Jack Wharff, Evan Novoa, Ryan Atchison, and Garrett Howell alongside Luke Wharff and Joe Clemmons (Midland, Hayes Carll, HARDY), “Small Town Heart” is a love letter to the communities that raise us and the big-time dreamers who carry home with them wherever they go. With Appalachian-rock grit and a bluegrass-tinged country backbone, the song showcases the band’s palpable chemistry that’s impossible to ignore as they proudly pay tribute to their Virginia roots.

“Ain’t nothing small about a small town heart,” says The Jack Wharff Band. “Nothing beats the feeling of home, wherever that is for you. We all grew up in different parts of Virginia, and we wanted to write and record something that encapsulates the identity that our small town gave us and the passion we have for it. This song represents those who don’t forget where they came from. This song is for the big dreamers who love their community.”

“Small Town Heart” follows the band’s recently released misfit anthem "Lowlife" (6.19) and EP 'Strange' (3.13), as well as a series of breakout moments that include a performance on the Nissan Stadium Platform Stage during CMA Fest presented by SoFi that ended with roaring applause from thousands of fans, appearances at Country Thunder (Wisconsin), Rock the Country, and Tailgate N' Tallboys, and more.

Last month, The Jack Wharff Band announced its North American headlining tour, The High Road Tour, kicking off Saturday, September 12 at Mahall’s in Cleveland, OH. The band will also make stops at Boots and Hearts Music Festival, Boots on the Bend, and Rock the Country, in addition to supporting Max McNownOle 60Dylan Gossett, and The Avett Brothers on select dates.
