Virginia-bred Americana/country/bluegrass outfit The Jack Wharff Band releases its new EP, Strange, Today (3.13) via Big Machine Records. Featuring five tracks, all co-written by lead-singer Jack Wharff, Strange is a reflection of the restless transformation along a journey of self-discovery that comes with life in your 20s.

From the band’s hometown tribute “Ole Virginia” to the spiritual redemption of “Saved,” Strange delivers an exploration of nostalgia, growing pains, navigating love and the loneliness of life on the road, testifying faith and more — all anchored in Appalachian-fueled authentic storytelling. The Jack Wharff Band is comprised of lead vocalist Jack Wharff, drummer Garrett Howell, bassist Ryan Atchison and guitarist Evan Novoa, who together have captivated fans with an invigorating and genre-defying thrash-grass sound blending elements of country, Americana, bluegrass and rock, drawing influence from fellow artists including Tyler Childers, Sam Barber, Billy Strings and others. Following the online craze surrounding the band’s 2025 track “Washed” and having its song “No Way Out” featured in the“Paramount+ series “Landman,” The Jack Wharff Band has been featured on Holler’s “20 Best New Country and Americana Artists for 2026,” Shazam Fast Forward 2026 and Absolute Radio Country’s Class of 2026. 

Following a surprise invitation from Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor, who co-wrote the EP’s “Virginia Can I Stay A While,” The Jack Wharff Band made its Grand Ole Opry debut on February 10th, met with a roaring standing ovation from the audience. The four-piece recently wrapped its first-ever headlining From The Hills to the Holler Tour and will make its C2C Festival debut in the UK this weekend, followed by festival appearances at Born & Raised Festival, Tortuga Music Festival, MerleFest, Boots On The Bend, Calf Fry Music Fest and more later this year.
