"Bright, hot and unpredictable" (Okay Player) duo The London Souls release their new album 'Here Come The Girls' on Feel Records/Round Hill Music today, and headline a hometown release show tonight at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC. They also just announced new shows this spring and summer including Los Angeles on May 31st at The Mint and dates in the UK and Europe.
'Here Come The Girls' captures the seismic, raw rock & roll and prowess that's landed them on stages with The Roots and Trombone Shorty, combined with new sonic territory for the group: sophisticated studio flourishes yielding psychedelia-kissed power pop a la 'Revolver' and Big Star. Guitarist/singer Tash Neal and drummer/singer Chris St. Hilaire recorded every instrument on the album and it was produced by Eric Krasno of Soulive/Lettuce. This is the debut release on Krasno's Feel Music label, to be released in conjunction with its partner label Round Hill.
Praise for 'Here Come The Girls':
"Gives you everything you could ask of a rock group: great songs, powerful, dynamic playing and singing, and a true sense of joy and brotherhood" - New Yorker
"Mashing together Byrds-y folk-rock with Badfinger's more bubblegum soul moments, with a little bit of The Beatles' Revolver sprinkled on top" - Entertainment Weekly
"Tough and brawny" - WXPN
"Driving rock, stomping blues and the occasional folky jingle...combined with vocals that alternately ache and roar" - All Music
""When I'm With You" is a Sixties rock pop anthem that could rival anything found on the Hollies catalogue while "Crimson Revival" recalls the cool Seventies FM radio gold akin to power pop kings Big Star. And no rock record is complete without a Zeppelin III-era acoustic beauty as heard in "Isabel."" - Village Voice
"If John Bonham and Gary Clarke Jr. sang like angels in a devilish blues band, The London Souls is what it would sound like." -- Gothamist
