LOS ANGELES, CA – The Nacelle Company, the people behind Netflix’s The Movies That Made Us, The Toys That Made Us, Down To Earth with Zac Efron and Behind The Attraction for Disney+ have announced they’ve reached an agreement with Toyfinity, an independent toy company and artist collective, to acquire Robo Force. In 1984, CBS released an animated show focused on the toy line, and companies from Buena Vista Records (Disney) to Random House, Topps and Hallmark partnered with CBS to support one of the biggest launches in toy business history.
Robo Force technology included patented suction cup bases, tubular arms (for crushing action) and a variety of detachable guns and moving parts. Taking a page out of the Star Wars game plan, CBS plastered the Robo Force logo on everything from lunchboxes and books, to pillowcases and bedsheets. The Topps collector card company partnered with Robo Force in 1984 to release a series of trading cards.
A script has been commissioned by The Nacelle Company, with plans to start producing toys and branded merchandise in late 2021. As well as a TV series premiere in mid 2022.
“Acquiring Robo Force is a significant step forward for our company and we want to be respectful of its past while making sure the characters and storylines are exciting to people who aren’t old, like me,” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company.
