The Rock And Roll Playhouse Announces First-Ever Shows In Denver, Fairfield, & Portland And Expands To Two New Venues 

Today, The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a national family concert series that aims to pass down music to future generations by creating opportunities for children to experience live music, announces its winter 2019 programming with its first-ever shows in Denver, Fairfield, and Portland with additional shows in Washington D.C. and Brooklyn.

Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band brings the music of Phish, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Rihanna, Aretha Franklin and more to families in an engaging, motivational setting. This winter, Rock and Roll Playhouse expands to Denver’s Bluebird Theater for the city’s first-ever show and debuts at Fairfield Connecticut’s Fairfield Theatre Company, in addition to Portland, Oregon’s Crystal Ballroom. Rock and Roll Playhouse will also host the final children-oriented show at Washington D.C.’s Gypsy Sally’s ahead of the venue’s closure. Full winter line-up below.

Included in the 2019 winter lineup is the Rock and Roll Playhouse’s Motown for Kids Holiday Celebrations and a special five-year anniversary show at Brooklyn Bowl. This year marks the fifth year for the Rock and Roll Playhouse, who will be celebrating in style where it all began - the Brooklyn Bowl. Further details to come.

This year’s winter 2019 season also includes two “Give Back” shows with The Can'd Aid Foundation, in Chicago and NYC, where The Rock and Roll Playhouse will donate an additional dollar of each ticket sold to Can'd Aid's Tunes program - a music initiative that donates instruments to public schools in need.

About Rock & Roll Playhouse

The Rock and Roll Playhouse is a national concert series for families where kids can “move, play and sing while listening to works form the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). The Playhouse was founded in 2013 at its flagship venue, Brooklyn Bowl, by Peter Shapiro, entrepreneur and co-owner of the Bowl and owner of The Capitol Theatre, and Amy Striem, a certified Early Childhood and Elementary teacher, who were looking to create opportunities for families to experience live music together in historic music venues. The Rock and Roll Playhouse shows use music from the most iconic musicians in musical history to inspire the next generation of children. It's core audience of kids under 10 explore their creativity dancing to live music from curated local bands, listening to stories, and playing interactive activities. With over 50,000 concert attendees in 2018 and 1,000 shows to date, The Rock and Roll Playhouse hosts concerts in 27 venues across 25 cities and explores the music of 5 generations and diverse genres, while giving back to local communities. The program has donated to the Can’d Aid Foundation’s Tunes Programs, VH1 Save the Music Foundation, and Keep the Music Alive, as well as ticket donations to local school fundraisers and auctions.
