The Rock and Roll Playhouse has announced its new season of "Rock & Roll For Kids" (schedule below), a children's-music-workshop series Saturdays at The Capitol Theatre and Sundays at Brooklyn Bowl. The series will include the Music of The Grateful Dead, The Beatles & The Police.
"Rock & Roll For Kids" is designed to keep children moving, playing, and singing while simultaneously listening to classic tunes and teaching developmental milestones. Adults will love the cool selection of genres and popular-music hits, and all are encouraged to fully participate. Each workshop is 60 minutes long and is specifically designed for children ten and younger, but all family members are welcome to this family show. Shows at Brooklyn Bowl begin promptly at noon each Sunday and admission is $10. Shows at The Capitol Theatre begin promptly at 3PM on designated Saturdays and admission is $20.
Rock and Roll Playhouse also now offers rockin’ kids’ birthday parties at Brooklyn Bowl! Designed for kids 10- and-under, the new Rock and Roll Playhouse Birthday Party Package includes admission to the Rock and Roll Playhouse Music Workshop — where children will explore live music, movement, and collaborative creativity — pre-ordered food from the Brooklyn Bowl Kids Coaster Menu, one cupcake for every child, and “Happy Birthday” sung to your child during the show. Enjoy great food and music with the whole family. For more information about birthday parties at Brooklyn Bowl, visit here: http://ticketf.ly/1YevUr7

About Brooklyn Bowl:
Brooklyn Bowl is the ultimate night out, with its groundbreaking integration of premiere music, 16 lanes of bowling, a bar featuring locally crafted beers, and food by the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group. Located in the beautiful, 19th-century Hecla Iron Works building, the venue -- aka "rock and roll heaven" (Village Voice) -- boasts a sound system and amenities that "no other local rock club can offer" (The New York Times).
Wearing its homegrown values on its sleeve, Brooklyn Bowl is as committed to locally made products -- serving award-winning beer from the adjacent Brooklyn Brewery -- as it is to environmental sustainability -- it's the first L.E.E.D.-certified bowling alley in the world. And the food? "Epic," says Eater. In other words, Brooklyn Bowl's unprecedented combination of top-flight music, bowling, beer and food is "like nailing a spare on a four-ten split" (The New Yorker).
About The Capitol Theatre:
Designed by celebrated architect Thomas Lamb in 1926 and listed in The National Register of Historic Places, the theatre is located approximately 30 miles from NYC, conveniently accessible by I-95 and only one block from the Port Chester Metro North train station. In its distinguished history, the 1,835-capacity theatre has hosted concerts by the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Derek and the Dominos, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Santana, Black Sabbath, Iggy Pop, and many more. Following a transformative renovation under the guidance of music entrepreneur Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, Relix, U2 3D), the theatre reopened as a rock palace on Sep 4, 2012, with a performance by Bob Dylan and has since hosted everyone from Al Green and My Morning Jacket to Sleigh Bells and Morrissey. The New York Times raved, "a rock theater that looks and sounds as good as the Capitol is something to celebrate," while Billboard agreed that "the lavishly decorated theater -- filled with mirrors, chandeliers and painstakingly restored detail -- looks absolutely stunning, and sounds even better."
