NEW YORK, NY – May 8, 2025 – Milojo Productions and audio-first entertainment company Fresh Produce Media today announce 'Summer Breeze,' an exciting new ten-episode Audible Original series, now available. Starring Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and Sarah Steele, this gripping audio drama pulls back the curtain on the world of 1990s daytime soap operas, weaving together scandal, ambition, and redemption in a high-stakes tale of artistry and revenge.
Created, written and executive produced by Aaron Tracy (Sequestered, Law & Order: SVU), the series is produced by Audible and Milojo Productions—the company co-founded by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos—and Fresh Produce Media.
'Summer Breeze' follows Lucy Frears (Sarah Steele), a down-on-her-luck, aspiring screenwriter who finally catches her big break when her very personal script is optioned by legendary mega-producer Gordon Ready (Mark Consuelos). However, Frears soon finds her dream turning into a nightmare when Ready’s true intentions are revealed. In response, Frears forms an unlikely alliance with a former soap opera star named Carolyn Harris (Kelly Ripa), who is harboring secrets of her own. Together, these two devise a daring, twisted plan to seek justice against the producer through the long-running soap opera, 'Summer Breeze'. As they navigate the cutthroat politics and general lunacy of the daytime TV industrial-complex, their scheme takes on a life of its own, blurring the lines between fiction and reality.
No stranger to the world of daytime TV, Ripa and Consuelos bring their own experiences as soap stars to this richly layered drama.
“Our relationship started on All My Children, so revisiting the world of soap operas, this time through a whole new medium, was a full-circle experience,” said Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “It’s a fresh take on the genre we love, with fun surprises, familiar voices, and something for both longtime soap fans and audio drama lovers alike.”
In addition to Ripa, Consuelos, and Steele, 'Summer Breeze' also stars Zack Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Talia Balsam, Tony-winner Adriane Lenox, Grey Henson, Ally Sheedy, and Michael Consuelos.
The series was directed by Tyne Rafaeli (Single Drunk Female, Elsbeth) and cast by Rich Mento (Warm Bodies, Step Up), with sound design and mixing by Mark Henry Phillips (Serial, Homecoming).
Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and Albert Bianchini serve as Executive Producers for Milojo Productions. Producing for Milojo are Michael Halpern, Devon Schneider, and Matt Boren.
Kate Navin serves as Executive Producer for Audible.
Colin Moore and Jason Ross serve as Executive Producers for Fresh Produce Media.
The series was produced by Matt Schrader with Epicleff Media.
