One of Seeker's hottest frontline signings, tiLLie's bright, alt-pop meets 90s electronic, nu metal-inspired sound has been praised by PAPER, Alt Press, Billboard, The FADER, and more. Spotify adds so far have included Fresh Finds, The New Alt, Fierce Femmes, to name a few, and she's already shared stages with the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, The Marías, and Soccer Mommy.
"yeR sTupiD NighTmaRe (mAd wOrLd) - which features an interpolation of Tears for Fears' classic hit "Mad World" - brings that song's punk-rock lullaby energy into the 21st century, and was inspired by tiLLie's experience with being prescribed antidepressants. She explains: "yer stupid nightmare came about after i finally made the plunge to start medication for my depression and anxiety. i couldn't stop thinking, am i crazy or is the world?""
Building a community for weirdos, misfits, LGBT youth, and anyone who feels different has always been at the core of tiLLie's artist project. With "yeR sTupiD NighTmaRe (mAd wOrLd)" tiLLie wants to tell fans it's OK to seek help for their mental health struggles. It's a message that's personal for tiLLie and something the original version of "Mad World" represents to her.
