On the heels of their raved-about sophomore LP 'Rest In Chaos,' the bruising, loose and deeply soulful rock band Hard Working Americans fronted by Todd Snider has announced the second leg of a U.S. tour that runs for the month of August. Hard Working Americans features Snider along with Dave Schools on bass (Widespread Panic), Neal Casal on guitar (Chris Robinson Brotherhood), Duane Trucks on drums (Widespread Panic), Chad Staehly on keys and Jesse Aycock on guitar and lap steel.
Hard Working Americans wrapped up the May leg of their tour with a packed Memorial Day party in Nashville that closed down an entire block of downtown for a day-long, free concert. In addition to celebrating the release of 'Rest In Chaos,' the block party helped raise funds and awareness for Blood:Water, an organization that fights to end the HIV/AIDS and water crises in Africa.
'Rest In Chaos' is getting over the top raves. 12 of the 13 tracks on the album are based on poetry by Snider and written by the band on the road. Also included is "The High Price Of Inspiration," a song by and featuring Guy Clark that would be one of his final collaborations before passing away last month.
PRAISE FOR 'REST IN CHAOS':
"Definitive proof that Hard Working Americans is no half-baked side project. Instead, the group continues to be a fascinating roots-rock collaboration." - Rolling Stone
"Arguably Todd Snider's greatest work to date...a remarkable record that deserves strong year-end consideration come list season." - Nashville Scene
"[A] kick-ass, brain-warp of an album." - No Depression
"A smart intellectual drift on a slow afternoon, a good companion on a lonesome night, this is the sort of rock 'n' roll that matters long after the boogie fades." - Lone Star Music Magazine
"Hard Working Americans are reconfiguring elements of folk, country and rock into a combustible mix of the visceral and cerebral." - Glide, 8 out of 10 stars
