Very Unbecoming, a ten-part scripted comedy series starring Zoe Chao, Esther Povitsky, and Amy Sedaris, from Audible and the audio-first entertainment company Fresh Produce Media is available now.
The series follows two childhood best friends - runaway bride-to-be Sofia (Povitsky), and serial cheater Chuck (Chao) - who reconnect as adults at a summer camp reunion. After each blows up their respective romantic relationships, they make a pact to change their ways. Sofia vows to sleep with as many people as possible before recommitting to monogamy and tying the knot with her long-time fiancé, while Chuck cannot sleep with anyone as she attends a three-month-long recovery group for cheaters. To keep things interesting, they decide to revive a past tradition from their camp days: they must tell each other about every single juicy detail of every single hookup. As wounds, misbehaviors, and co-dependencies surface, Chuck and Sofia must navigate blurred boundaries to help each other rediscover themselves at a pivotal moment.
Comedy legend Amy Sedaris stars as Sofia’s fast-talking, hyper-critical, sex positive mom Valerie, with Jackie Hoffman rounding out the stellar cast. Very Unbecoming is a witty, poignant exploration of female intimacy, platonic love, and sexual agency.
Very Unbecoming was written and directed by Emily Kron and Kate Hopkins, known for their darkly comedic, female-centric storytelling, the series was executive produced by Chief Content Officer Colin Moore and CEO Jason Ross of Fresh Produce Media.
