Today, North Carolina’s Mandolin Orange present their long-awaited NPR Tiny Desk performance. The duo – singer-songwriter Andrew Marlin and multi-instrumentalist Emily Frantz – performed stripped-down takes of “Golden Embers” and “The Wolves,” both from their Billboard-topping, multi-million streamed new album Tides of a Teardrop

NPR Music previously dubbed them “one of North Carolina’s most significant bands,” and The Washington Post says the band “redefine roots music for a younger generation.” Earlier this summer, they made their Grand Ole Opry debut and performed for Governor Roy Cooper at the North Carolina Executive Mansion as part of Come Hear NC.

The band has also announced more fall and winter tour dates, adding to what is already their biggest tour to date. After headlining Pickathon last month, they’ll be doing two nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (night two is already sold-out), Brooklyn Steel, DC’s Lincoln Theatre, and lots more. They’ve also added a string of winter dates, including the Theater at the Ace in Los Angeles and the Moody Theatre at Austin City Limits. See the full touring route below.
