With over 50 million plays on Vine, Chris Stylez has appeared out of the ether to soundtrack some of 2015's most notable brands, videos, and memes without his face ever being seen. His new EP 'Who Is' showcases his diverse abilities, and has grown organically on social media platforms. At its peak, the remix of "Who Is" by Kryptogram was used every five minutes to make a new Vine post - with over ten thousand total Vines. The song has caught on with everyone from Vine celebrities Evan Breen and Matt King, to the "Dancing Doge" meme, to the Denver Broncos, BuzzFeed, and Chelsea Football Club.
Stylez's tracks have an international following. "What Are We Waiting For" was on both the Spotify "United States Viral 50" chart and the "United Kingdom Viral 10" chart, while "Who Is" charted in France, Portugal, Poland, and Australia.
Inspired by the artistry of D'Angelo, the enigmatic Chris Stylez expresses himself through sensual production and his inviting, enthralling voice on his new EP 'Who Is' (elasme/Backtrack Music). The NY-based Stylez combines his love of R&B icons like Marvin Gaye with modern, driving production on the new EP while emulating the diverse performance ability of Pharrell Williams.
Each song is a different angle to the mercurial, mysterious Stylez. He sings an ode to individual spirit, ambitions and aspirations on "What Are We Waiting For", and asks just that in the chorus. "Nightshift" aims to remove the negative stigma from the exotic dance profession, while aspiring to empower women and their hustle. The title track of the EP showcases Stylez's diverse range, singing directly to his lover, and calling them back to his aura.
