X5 App Features Music From Andorra To Zimbabwe, And All Points Between
X5 Music Group has just launched its most unique Spotify app to date, "Music of the World," which allows users to navigate world music and local folk music from every nation via an interactive map, with data sourced directly from Google. Like X5's five previous Spotify apps -"Classify," "Bluesify," "Jazzify," "Jukebox" and "Hard & Heavy," - "Music of the World" features music handpicked by a team of experts with extensive knowledge and background in the industry, bringing X5's expertise in curation to the fastest growing digital streaming service.
"Music of the World" allows users to browse through 2,500+ playlists and albums from every corner of the world, from South African Marabi to Icelandic folk to Japanese Min'yo, among others. It offers biographical notes on each of the featured artists and nations, as well as suggestions for related artists within each category. The app represents 220 countries, territories, and regions with distinct musical traditions. When the user clicks on a specific location, a curated music playlist automatically appears.
"Music of the World" is set to follow the original "Classify," which launched in 2011 and now boasts nearly 100,000 monthly users and 390,000+ app installs. Similarly, "Bluesify" and "Jazzify," which launched last fall, have helped completely new audiences discover blues and jazz, increasing overall streams and therefore revenue for this content across the board. "Jukebox," which launched this year and helps users browse the greatest American Oldies artists, is X5's fastest growing app, now boasting nearly 80,000 monthly users and continued exponential growth since its release. "Hard & Heavy," which launched earlier this month and helps users explore the heavier chapters of rock, already boasts 15,000+ users.
