May 8, 2026 - Last night at Chicago's Thalia Hall, Flea and the Honora band performed their first-ever live show, kicking off a sold-out tour that will bring them to intimate venues across North America and Europe this month. Featuring Flea on trumpet, bass and vocals, alongside an elite group of modern jazz visionaries – saxophonist and keyboardist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Deantoni Parks– the set included the live debut of nearly every song from Flea's chart-topping new album, Honora, as well as two unreleased and previously unheard originals ("Good Night Darius" and "Shred of Hope"), all culminating in a stirring monologue and stunning audience singalong to "Lovelovelove" from his 2012 EP, Helen Burns.

Friday, May 8 - Music Will, the largest non-profit music education program for schools in the United States, held their annual benefit in New York City at theMarriott Marquis in Times Square last night on May 7. The evening supported Music Will’s mission to transform young lives through innovative, multi-genre music education programs in public schools. This year, Music Will honored 13x Grammy Award winning producer, artist and songwriter T Bone Burnett who was given his honor by Elvis Costello, Grammy Award winning and Billboard chart topping singer/songwriter Maren Morris, and Hip Hop icon and business mogul Master P. Bruce Eskowitz, COO Red Light Management, received the Inaugural Music Icon Award presented to him by Coran Capshaw (CEO, Red Light Management). Nile Rogers surprised Bruce on stage and a heartfelt video was submitted by Lionel Richie to congratulate Eskowitz on his award. 

This year’s benefit raised over one million dollars to support Music Will’s mission to transform young lives through innovative, popular music education programs in public schools. In Lionel Richie’s tribute to Bruce Eskowitz, he shared “Music Will helps us remember why music matters in the first place.” With this year’s fundraising and celebrity partnerships, Music Will is one step closer to achieving their goal to serve 11 million students and engage 40,000 music educators by 2030. Music Will will expand its program in various markets to celebrate each honoree next school year.

Mike Wasserman, CEO of Music Will shared “Twenty-four years ago, Music Will began with a simple belief: when young people have the opportunity to channel their creativity and make the music they love, music can become a place of belonging, a confidence-builder, and a form of self-expression. Tonight was a powerful reminder of that promise, and we are deeply grateful to our honorees, performers, educators, supporters, and of course our student musicians. The support raised through this event enables our programs to reach 1.4 million students this year alone, with a goal to bring music, joy, and opportunity to tens of millions of students in the years ahead.”

GALA HIGHLIGHTS:

• The evening opened with a powerful rendition of “Glory” performed by students from TEP Elementary, setting the tone for a night centered on the transformative power of music education.
• Emcee for the evening, N'Kenge shared a heartfelt story about how music shaped her professional journey and helped her navigate a difficult time in her early childhood. One young student told her at a recent Music Will school visit, “I didn’t have a role model until I met you today.”
• Wyclef Jean - Honorary Benefit Chair and 2025 Music Will Honoree - introduced a standout performance by students from TAPCo, whose electrifying rendition of “Can't Stop” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers earned a standing ovation from the crowd.
• Following the performance, a TAPCo student delivered an emotional speech about the life-changing impact of Music Will’s programming that “allows me to train like a professional.”
• During the live auction, a generous $23,000 contribution toward a Nashville/Gibson trip was immediately matched, underscoring the audience’s commitment to expanding opportunities for young musicians and preserving arts education.
• Cymphonique introduced her father, Master P, to the stage after a heartfelt performance. He concluded his acceptance speech by celebrating the next generation of artists: “These kids inspire me and are mastering their future.”
• Legendary producer, musician and songwriter Nile Rodgers reflected on the importance of preserving arts education, sharing: “They’ve gotten rid of so many parts of the American education system, but the kids tonight remind me of my childhood.” He later added, “Watching these kids play was really touching. [Donating to Music Will] was the best $25,000 I’ve ever spent.”
• Honoree Bruce Eskowitz was introduced by colleague and friend Coran Capshaw, with a surprise by Nile Rodgers. Lionel Richie joined by a submitted video and praised the organization’s mission, sharing, “Music Will helps us remember why music matters in the first place.”
• T Bone Burnett was presented his award by pioneering artist Elvis Costello. Following his acceptance, he performed "Humans from Earth" and "Everything and Nothing" alongside Larry Campbell, Amy Helm, and Tony Garnier.
• Maren Morris closed out the night with a powerful performance of her song “My Church” joined onstage by students whose heartfelt presence on the stage had the crowd swaying to the music.

The benefit was presented by Gregory & Carolyn Hall, produced by Michael Matuza and MBM Entertainment, and co-chaired by Jonathan Shank (CEO, Terrapin Station Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony Music), and Gregory Hall(Managing Director and Head of U.S. Global Wealth Management, Pimco). 

Last year, Music Will’s 2025 Gala honored Sara Bareilles, Kristin Chenoweth, Jackson Browne, and Wyclef Jean. The gala’s musical director Michael Bearden(Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston) returned for another year as well. Past honorees have included: Babyface, Tom Morello, Idina Menzel, Bonnie Raitt, Smokey Robinson, Elvis Costello, Warren Haynes, Usher, Steven Van Zandt, Mavis Staples, Joan Jett, Trombone Shorty, Wiz Khalifa, and Clarence Clemmons,among others. Renowned performers and presenters have included Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, Alice Cooper, Darlene Love, Carlos Santana, Yo-Yo Ma, Brian Wilson, Jack Black, Graham Nash, Steve Miller, Todd Rundgren, Alice Merton, Darryl McDaniels (Run-D.M.C.), Harry Connick, Jr., and more.

Research from the National Association for Music Education shows that schools with music programs see nearly 18% increase in graduation rates and almost 10% increase in attendance rates. The American Psychological Association reveals music students score significantly better in Science, Math, and English compared to other non-music students. Moreover, 92% of teachers who have adopted Music Will’s program report closer connections to their students since the Modern Band approach meets students where they are – inviting students to not just play music but create music. Thanks to the generous support of the Music Will community, the organization raised over $1 million to transform music education for students across the country.

Written by Grey and co-produced with Danny Majic (G-Eazy, Jimin, Flo Rida), “Plastic Water Bottles” unspools through fragmented snapshots of a hazy high school night at her hometown carnival, an annual tradition complete with plastic water bottles filled with vodka. With imagery so strong you can almost smell the fair food and too-sweet drink mixers, Grey describes careless flirting traded for free rides on the Ferris Wheel and the taboo thrill of an older lover too intoxicating to quit. 

“'Plastic Water Bottles' is a nostalgic snapshot in time, like a diary entry from my innocent yet reckless teen years, when I’d sneak vodka into water bottles, flirt with boys I knew were bad news, and chase excitement that made me feel older than I was,” shares Grey on the track. 

The song follows recent previews “Come” and “Black n’ Blue,” which also detail her exploration into early romances and finding her sexuality. She has also shared “Nirvana” and “Motivation,” two tracks steeped in rose-tinted nostalgia and longing for the sleepy town she once couldn’t wait to leave.

Raised on music – her mother playing Celtic harp, her father singing in a barbershop quartet and the start of her own professional music career at age 12 – Grey grew up in quiet contrast before youth brought restlessness, rebellion and the feeling of being stagnant. May 8, 2026: Today, GRAMMY®, TONY®, and EMMY® Award-winning icon Barry Manilow releases “Another Life – 2026,” a reimagined version of his 1992 single as the final preview from his forthcoming album What A Time, out June 5. The project marks Manilow’s first collection of nearly all-original material in almost 15 years. As the album’s final advance track, the sparkling ballad brings renewed emotional depth to one of his most reflective songs.

Written by Andrew Hill (Céline Dion, John Mayer) and Preston Sturges (David Lee Roth, Larry Dunn), “Another Life – 2026” explores the distance between former lovers, as one struggles to come to terms with the relationship’s end. Arranged by Manilow and longtime collaborator Michael Lloyd, the new 2026 recording retains the song’s wistful core while deepening its sense of nostalgia – hallmarks that have long defined Manilow’s music.

The new single follows Manilow’s first public appearance since undergoing surgery for lung cancer. On April 23, Manilow appeared at the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Fame gala in NYC to accept the prestigious President’s Award, recognizing his iconic work in advertising, where he has composed and performed some of the most memorable jingles in history for brands including State Farm, Band-Aid, KFC, Pepsi, and McDonald’s. FRIDAY, MAY 8 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Today, three-time GRAMMY winner and generational vocal talent Tori Kelly released “Control” and “Dive,” the first two singles from her forthcoming studio album, God Must Really Love Me, due out June 12 via Epic Records. 

On the hypnotic “Control,” she alchemizes a moment of everyday chaos into a meditation on surrender, magnifying the track’s gentle intensity with hard-hitting beats, incandescent harmonies, and hip-hop-inspired vocal flow. “‘Control’ is about how I cope when life feels crazy; how I always turn to God, and release those worries so they don’t end up weighing me down,” Tori shares. “I wrote ‘Dive’ when I was seven months pregnant and feeling giddy and anxious about moving into the next phase of my life. It’s about recognizing that we won’t get it right all the time, but we just have to dive in and do our best.” 

God Must Really Love Me moves with an unhurried ease that echoes the effortless confidence and clarity of vision that Tori brought to every step of the album’s creation. With its radiant fusion of R&B, soul, acoustic pop, and gospel, the resulting body of work unveils a new dimension of her sophisticated musicality and singular voice—the outcome of a newfound willingness to let restraint carry as much impact as virtuosity.

In addition to “Control” and “Dive,” the tracklisting’s myriad high points include its sublimely tender title track, a minute-long outpouring of adoration for her son, adorned with a heart-melting recording of Zayden’s voice, the luminous and dreamlike “Too Much,” which she wrote just ten days after Zayden’s birth, “Bird,” which serves as the centerpiece and emotional core of the album, and “Bliss,” an acoustic-guitar-driven, harmony-laced reverie written as a lullaby while holding her son.

In a meaningful departure from her previous work, Tori crafted most of the new LP’s songs in solitude before heading into the studio with in-demand producers/co-writers like DIXSON (Kehlani, Vic Mensa), Nija Charles (Summer Walker, Kiana Ledé), Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan), and Ammo (Beyoncé, Teddy Swims). Although the LP mostly came to life in Los Angeles with her two main collaborators, Tommy King (HAIM, Donna Missal) and Dan Farber (Lizzo, Alessia Cara), a number of songs surfaced while touring Europe in summer 2025 with superstar Ed Sheeran.

This summer, Tori will join GRAMMY-nominated and GMA DOVE Award-winning artist Forrest Frank for The Jesus Generation Tour. The tour will include 29 shows at arenas across the US, including Madison Square Garden in New York City, HersheyPark Stadium in Hershey, PA, Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, CA, and Moody Center in Austin, TX. May 8, 2026: Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner and 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant has returned with her first collection of original songs in 13 years, The Me That Remains, out today via Thirty Tigers. A deeply personal and reflective work, The Me That Remains finds Grant taking a clear-eyed look at where she stands personally, spiritually, and creatively today. Across its ten tracks, the album reflects on healing, connection, endurance, and grace, shaped by the life experience of a beloved musician now more than 50 years into a groundbreaking career. 

"I had so much fun going back into the studio again and making this project with Mac [McAnally],” Grant says. “To hear the talent every writer, musician and guest artist brought to the project put a big smile on my face. I feel like this project freed me from expectations that I didn't even know I had.”

Produced by ten-time CMA Award winner and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Mac McAnally, the album signals a more stripped-down, singer-songwriter approach, first previewed with “The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm),” a meditation on unity and perspective inspired by the idealism of the Woodstock era. 

Throughout The Me That Remains, McAnally’s understated production allows Grant’s voice—warm, intimate, and resolute—to take center stage, foregrounding the emotional clarity that defines the record. Written and recorded in the wake of significant personal challenges, including open heart surgery and a life-altering bike accident, the album carries a sense of hard-won perspective, balancing vulnerability with quiet strength.

Grant has introduced the album in recent weeks with a series of special appearances, including a performance of the title track on Live with Kelly & Mark and a sold-out “New York Evening With Amy Grant” at The Greene Space, hosted by the GRAMMY Museum in partnership with the Americana Music Foundation, where she debuted several songs from the project live for the first time.

Across the album, Grant blends deeply personal reflection with broader themes of collective healing. “How Do We Get There From Here” (feat. Ruby Amanfu) wrestles with division, grief, and the urgent question of how to move forward in the wake of tragedy—written following the 2023 Covenant School shooting in Nashville and released on its anniversary as a call for unity, compassion, and collective action. “The Saint,” co-written with longtime collaborator Michael W. Smith, offers a portrait of redemption, while collaborations with Vince Gill, Sarah Cannon, and Corrina Gill underscore the personal and musical relationships that have shaped her life and career.

Co-written with McAnally, the title track “The Me That Remains” serves as the album’s emotional centerpiece, directly reflecting on Grant’s recent health journey (“Life cut me wide open / When my head hit the ground / Wasn’t my time for dying / Guess my soul just stuck around”). Ultimately, the song emerges as a testament to survival, resilience, and gratitude (“My smile in the mirror is enough for today / Reflecting the light deep down inside that never will fade”).

Visually, The Me That Remains extends these themes of reflection and reconstruction. Grant commissioned artist Wayne Brezinka to create the album cover as a mixed-media collage assembled from meaningful fragments of her life—including family photos, pieces of a treasured quilt, seashells from her collection, her childhood Bible, and an article about her great-grandfather—layering memory and meaning directly into the portrait. In conjunction with the release, the Museum of Christian and Gospel Music in Nashville will debut a special exhibition of the artwork beginning May 8.

Now 65, Grant remains a singular figure in American music. With more than 30 million albums sold and over 2.2 billion global streams, she became the first artist in Contemporary Christian Music to achieve a platinum record, reach No. 1 on the pop charts, and perform at the GRAMMY Awards. WATCH ROZZI PERFORM “ALL FOR A MAN” ON THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW

Friday, May 8 - Today, Rozzi releases her eagerly awaited new album ‘Fig Tree,’ produced by Mocky (Feist, Kelela, Moses Sumney) and recorded in his LA studio. The 14 track album marks her first full length project since ‘Berry (Deluxe),’ which featured the legendary Nile Rodgers and PJ Morton. This new record grapples with big existential questions without prescribing neat resolutions. The work is a deep dive into all of the uncertainty and change that comes with growth, but, ultimately, it’s about trust. Rozzi shared “I made this album at a point of transition. I was entering a time where the choices I made started to feel like they could affect the rest of my life. I was facing a lot of change, but I was also returning to myself. In that way, this album makes me think of the Miles Davis quote, ‘sometimes it takes you a long time to sound like yourself.’ Maybe it was working with Mocky, maybe it was recording to tape and doing mostly full, live takes. But whatever it was, I’ve never sounded so much like myself.”

When Rozzi first began writing Fig Tree she had just left her 20s behind, reached a new stage in a long-term relationship, watched her brother become a father, and was reading books like Motherhood by Sheila Heti and The Bell Jar. As in Sylvia Plath’s seminal work, the fig tree is a powerful and looming metaphor for this chapter of the singer-songwriter’s life. With each extending branch, a choice. Presented at Ki Smith Gallery on New York’s Lower East Side, 26 artists were selected to participate in the exhibition, from over 500 global submissions. Rozzi would return to the space weekly to perform both new material from her upcoming record and favorites from her existing catalogue.

Now in LA, the show will evolve, inviting visual artists - including some returning - to create new works for this next chapter of Fig Tree as it becomes available for fans and listeners. The works will live in the venue over the course of the six week residency, which will also include weekly performances. Following these performances, an after hours party will open up into a new unseen part of the venue, with surprise guests and performances. Visitors can expect an immersive and ever changing experience inspired by the world of Fig Tree.

With Belladonna Nocturne, Lanois extends the dreamlike language of his acclaimed GRAMMY-nominated 2005 instrumental album, Belladonna, pushing into new musical realms. With Chordal, rights holders can now access and earn greater sync revenues from brand advertisers on TikTok than ever before, and brands are gaining access to exponentially more music to use in their ads.

Since signing a multi-year partnership with TikTok’s global Commercial Music Library (CML) in July, Chordal has helped support commercial music licensing on TikTok by letting rights holders instantly pre-clear fractional shares and automate payouts, giving brands fast, convenient and safe access to a broader catalog of pre-cleared music for TikTok content and advertising. Manager and supervisor Cliff Simms (Stone Rolla) pointed to rapid momentum for artist Boy Deluxe following a four-week Top 10 TikTok Recommended placement, delivering 14.5K micro-sync uses in 10 weeks and rising from zero to 28.6 million views, with revenue continuing after promotion ended. “Signing the agreement was super easy and fast.
