John Roberts is a multi-faceted talent with a remarkable array of accomplishments under his belt. Best known as the voice behind Linda Belcher on FOX’s Bob's Burgers, Roberts has also opened for comedy icon Margaret Cho, collaborated with rock legends Blondie, and had memorable roles in the comedy drama Stress Positions (2024) and romantic comedy Fire Island (2022). Now, he’s channeling his creative energy into his music career, crafting a unique sound that draws from his diverse artistic background.

A proud New York native, Roberts grew up between NYC and NJ. His artistic journey began with writing, starting in high school with comedy. At 17, he left home for NYC and never looked back. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he transitioned into music, which opened doors to a vibrant community of creatives who have played a pivotal role in his evolution as an artist.

Roberts' collaborations are a testament to his versatility. He has worked with legendary artists like Blondie (on their 2017 single, “Love Level”), Big Black Delta (on 2019’s “Looking”), and alongside Beth Ditto, Felix da Housecat, Roger Sanchez, and Harry Romero on his debut album, Lights Out (2021). More recently, producers Junior Sanchez and Kevin Rudolf have helped push his sound in bold new directions, leading to a string of high-energy singles and remixes (Disco Fries, DJ Skribble, and more) that showcase his range and creative vision.

Describing his creative process, Roberts starts with a rhythm track and improvises melodies and sounds before shaping them into dynamic lyrics. Music, he says, has always been a sanctuary for him: "Music has always been a safe place for me, and I love creating a song because you never know what you can channel."

That evolution came into full focus with Outside is a Clown, released November 21, 2025, and led by the single "Ain't Too Tough To Dance," a Rudolf co-write blending contemporary dance, R&B, and pop into a feel-good anthem.

This fall, Roberts returns with his fourth studio album, co-written and produced by Chris Wallace (Meghan Trainor, Madison Beer, Tinashe); the next step in a catalog that continues to fuse electro-pop, house, and indie influences with a sharp lyrical edge.
