Bio : Royalty Exchange
Royalty Exchange is using the power of markets to unlock the value of ideas that enrich the human experience.
As the world’s oldest and largest online marketplace for buying and selling royalties and other intellectual property, Royalty Exchange brings together music creators and private investors with transparency and fairness so all may participate, not just the well-connected few. Creators earning royalties can sell shares to any investor willing to pay a fair price, without giving up any rights or going into debt, while investors gain access to royalty assets previously unavailable to them, and the information they need to make informed decisions.
Originally founded in 2011, and relaunched under new ownership in 2015, Royalty Exchange has facilitated royalty transactions attached to music performed by the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Drake, and Taylor Swift, as well as films such as Trading Places, the Star Trek franchise, and much more.
As of 2021, Royalty Exchange has facilitated over 1,000 transactions with over $92 million, with more than 27,000 investors creating accounts to view and bid on royalty listings. It has launched a free catalog evaluation app called Know Your Worth that allows any creator to get a free analysis of their catalog activity, and recently expanded the marketplace to include The eXchange, where creators can list their royalties directly to investors at a price they set.
Royalty Exchange doesn’t buy or sell royalties. It doesn’t provide advances or make loans. It’s simply the marketplace where creators and investors meet and connect on their own terms. The healthier the marketplace, the better it serves everyone.
