Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protege of Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he became a master storyteller in his own right, with songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, and The Pretenders. His 1986 record Guitar Town shot to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre, and his 1988 hit "Copperhead Road" was made an official state song of Tennessee in 2023. The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY® Awards, and Jerry Jeff (2022) featured Earle’s versions of songs by Jerry Jeff Walker.
Earle has published I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive and Dog House Roses, produced albums for Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, and appeared in films and HBO’s The Wire and Tremé. He wrote music for and appeared in Coal Country, was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020, honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music in 2023, released Alone Again (Live) on July 12th, 2024, and was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on September 17th, 2025.
