Brooklyn Bowl Announces Four Performances By Gypsy Swing Band Gogol Bordello In Celebration Of New Year’s Eve
December 28th At Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia And December 29th, 30th, 31st At Brooklyn Bowl Williamsburg
Today, Brooklyn Bowl announces four Gogol Bordello New Years Eve celebration shows on Dec. 28th in Philadelphia and Dec. 29th, 30th, and 31st in Williamsburg. The New York-based collective — Eugene Hutz (vocals, guitar), Sergey Ryabtsev (violin), Pedro Erazo (vocals, percussion), Boris Pelekh (guitar), Ashley Tobias (vocals), Korey Kingston (drums), and Gil Alexandre (bass) — proclaims the spirit of resilience in the face of adversity and plans to bring that same energy to Brooklyn Bowl to ring in the new year. Known for their patchwork of raucous punk and Eastern European Gypsy-swing, the band has performed on stage alongside System of a Down, Primus, Rancid, and Dropkick Murphys.
A multicultural band which combines Eastern, Western and Latin traditions, Gogol Bordello makes music about perseverance. Their newest album SOLIDARTINE speaks to these themes and this year, after seeing the tragedies in Eugene’s homeland of Ukraine, Gogol Bordello released the single “Forces of Victory” (feat. Ukrainian Nobel prize nominee poet and singer Serhiy Zhadan and electrofolk Ukrainian artists Kazka), which features jaw-dropping word smithery and moral bust for the fighting nation uplifted by virtuoso violin from Sergey.

ABOUT BROOKLYN BOWL:
Brooklyn Bowl, ranked the #1 busiest club in NYC and #7 busiest club in the world in 2017 (Pollstar), is the ultimate night out, with its groundbreaking integration of premiere music, 16 lanes of bowling, a bar featuring locally crafted beers, and food by the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group. Wearing its homegrown values on its sleeve, Brooklyn Bowl is as committed to locally made products -- serving award-winning beer from the adjacent Brooklyn Brewery -- as it is to environmental sustainability -- it's the first L.E.E.D.-certified bowling alley in the world and serves paper straws. And the food? "Epic," says Eater. In other words, Brooklyn Bowl's unprecedented combination of top-flight music, bowling, beer and food is "like nailing a spare on a four-ten split" (The New Yorker).
