Capitol Theatre Offers "CapPhil" - Exclusive Pass To all Phil Lesh & Friends Shows, Plus Exclusive Merchandise And Meet-And-Greet With The Band
The Capitol Theatre is offering fans the ultimate Deadhead experience in 2014 with CapPhil, a year-long pass guaranteeing entry to every Phil Lesh & Friends show taking place at the Theatre next year, along with a slew of other benefits. As reported by the New York Times last month, Lesh has entered into an exclusive booking agreement with Capitol Theatre owner Peter Shapiro and is slated to play at least 30 shows at the Port Chester, NY, venue, which the Times rightly reports is "hallowed by Grateful Dead fans." Fans who purchase CapPhil will receive a ticket to each of the band's thirty performances at the Cap. If there are more than 30 shows, each added date will be included at no additional cost, and if there are fewer than thirty, prorated refunds will be given. Two options for ticket types are available, a "general admission floor" option, and a "reserved loge" option, which are priced separately. CapPhil also includes a limited edition signed show poster, an exclusive t-shirt, an opportunity to attend one of four meet-and-greets with Phil & Friends, and other membership perks. The packages go on sale this Saturday Dec. 21 at noon at: www.thecapitoltheatre.com and by phone through Ticketfly, 877-4-FLY-TIX (435-9849).
Phil Lesh:
"I'm not retiring, and I'm not slowing down. I've been playing at The Cap for over forty years and it feels like nothing else. The energy is dripping off the walls."
Capitol Theatre owner Peter Shapiro:
"It’s pretty cool that an artist who has played the Cap thirty-seven times in his career is ready to put the pedal to the metal in 2014, and do another thirty. We want to give fans of Phil and the Cap the opportunity to be there for every show."
Since reopening in September 2012 with a sold-out performance by Bob Dylan, The Capitol Theatre has hosted 150 shows performed by an incredibly diverse range of artists, from My Morning Jacket and Fiona Apple to Morrissey and Al Green. Rolling Stone called The Cap "one of the best music halls in the country," and NPR hailed it as "the platonic ideal of a live music room." In a review of opening night, the NY Times wrote that "a rock theater that looks and sounds as good as the Capitol is something to celebrate," while Billboard said that "the lavishly decorated theater -- filled with mirrors, chandeliers and painstakingly restored detail -- looks absolutely stunning, and sounds even better."
