Last month, Daniella shared “Ketzele Broygez (Lover’s Tiff),” the first single ahead of Klezmerette. Filmed all over NYC, the exuberant music video celebrates where Daniella (and so much rich Jewish history) comes from – “the music of New York.” Watch it HERE.
On Klezmerette as a whole, Daniella seeks to bring the humor, sensuality, sorrow, and sonic bravado of Yiddish music into 2026. Produced by GRAMMY winner Joanie Leeds and Klezmer virtuoso and clarinetist Michael Winograd, the project includes ten Yiddish standards taking listeners through a journey of boisterous dance music, smoky cabaret, folk ballads, and devastating tango. Uncovering the threads connecting Klezmer to Broadway, jazz, and Roma traditions, the album is both a celebration of Jewish music in all its diversity and a deeply personal reckoning with heritage and grief for Daniella, who is a third-generation Holocaust survivor. Last year, while making Klezmerette, Daniella also lost her best friend and the first person who ever encouraged her to pick up a microphone, her sister Ariana, imbuing the project with even deeper meaning.
Over its ten tracks, Klezmerette treats Yiddish storytelling as an art form not just rooted in pain or frozen in time, but as a living tradition that continues to move, transform, and make room for joy. Following two decades immersed in Yiddish performance (across stages like Town Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and State Jewish Theaters in Warsaw, Łódź and Bucharest), on Klezmerette, Daniella challenges the idea that the Yiddish language and its music belong to the past. In fact, during a time of rising antisemitism, celebrating our heritage and using it as a means to inspire Jewish pride, joy, and remembrance is as important as ever.

To debut her renditions of the songs on Klezmerette, Daniella will perform at New York Sings Yiddish at Central Park SummerStage tomorrow September 17, followed by an album-release concert at The Cutting Room on October 15.
