Today (11.19), the British duo Ferris & Sylvester - who were named Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana UK Awards in 2020 and recently hailed as “one of the best bands of the last five years” by the BBC - unleash the epic title track from their much-anticipated debut album Superhuman, out March 11, 2022 via PIAS. Produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, The Strokes) and Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd), the 12-track album features 10 brand-new songs that take listeners on a journey where genres intertwine, emotions are laid bare, and harmonies chill to the bone.

With guitars turned up to 11, “Superhuman” is the “pair at their most direct” (CLASH). It's a rip-roaring anthem that sees the pair teetering on the edge of a break-up. The accompanying video (also released today), doubles down on the competitive element of the track as Ferris & Sylvester go head to head, performing their back-and-forth dialogue as if their relationship depends on it.

This song has always felt like an introduction into our world,” they explain, “we don’t pretend to be this perfect couple, nor have we ever been interested in portraying that. No story is a straight line.”

Hailed for their “immaculate harmonies” and “rich, fully realized sound” (Rolling Stone), Ferris & Sylvester fuse Americana and rock’n’roll sensibilities into an undeniable sound. In the past, they have drawn comparisons to everyone from Simon & Garfunkel to First Aid Kit, but with their new single “Superhuman,” are more akin to another legendary duo, The White Stripes.

The duo’s first full-length release follows the critically acclaimed EPs Made In Streatham and I Should Be On A Train, which found success on both sides of the Atlantic. Announcing their arrival in no uncertain terms, these early releases became regulars on BBC Radio 1, 2, 4 and 6, racked up more than 10 million streams on Spotify, and earned them a place in Rolling Stone’s ‘Top 10 Americana Acts You Need To Know.’

During their relatively short pre-Covid existence, Ferris & Sylvester became prolific live performers, cementing their reputation as one of the most exciting must-see live acts and clocking in over a hundred shows a year. Alongside sold-out headline gigs, the duo has supported Mystery JetsRobert PlantGeorge EzraJade Bird and others, and played GlastonburySXSW, and Isle of Wight, winning over audiences and building a loyal and mighty fanbase.

Ferris & Sylvester will tour the US in 2022. Dates to be announced soon.
