Flying Embers Announces Partnership With Next Rung 

Ventura, CA (May 12, 2020) -  World’s leading organic hard kombucha brand, Flying Embers   (https://flyingembers.com/), is proud to announce their partnership with Next Rung, the nonprofit organization that combats the mental health and wellness of first responders nationwide.  

Flying Embers, a better for you alcohol brand, based out of Ventura, CA, was founded during the Thomas Fires in Ojai, CA in 2017. When the fires almost destroyed the Flying Embers home brewery and the young brand, founder Bill Moses was deeply humbled by the first responders risking their lives to save lives. The company currently gives back 1% of revenue to firefighters and first  responder charitable organizations out of respect and appreciation for their sacrifice and service. With this new partnership with Next Rung, Flying Embers also  pledges to give a percentage of revenue from June through August to the non profit. The campaign will focus on the overall wellness of first responders and Flying Embers will participate in May’s Mental Health Awareness Month through various channels and events including giveaways on social media channels, online interviews, and first responder surprise hard kombucha deliveries.

The partnership between nonprofit, Next Rung and Flying Embers was a natural fit for the like-minded organizations that have both supported the wellness of first responders. Adding to the sentiment and importance of this alliance is the history of  co-founder of Next Rung, Charlie Brown, fighting in the Thomas Fires in 2017. Something both companies learned about after the partnership was formed.

Next Rung, founded by first responders Blake Stinnett and Charlie Brown, started with the idea to give back with a t-shirt business but quickly grew when they realized the impact they could make by supporting the battle against mental health for first responders and their families. The non-profit created a national hotline where they offer support, counseling, financial aid, and aid for families. The foundation has helped hundreds across the country and impacted first responders and their families to normalize mental health. 

“Our mission is to help firefighter wellness by raising awareness and taking action to support our fellow firefighters as they encounter mental health challenges in both their daily life and their work life,” Brown adds.
