Fred Minnick Announces 2022 Ascot Awards Medal Winners

American Spirits Council of Tasters (ASCOT) today (5.23) releases the medal results for the 2022 ASCOT Awards Taste and Marketing + Design competitions. Top scorers now proceed to the championship rounds where Best in Category, Best in Class and Products of the year will be determined.

ASCOT Awards is an international spirits competition created by spirits personality and veteran tasting judge, Fred Minnick. The competition provides a unique opportunity for distillers to have their products recognized through Fred’s podcasts, streaming shows, media appearances, social media, news articles, newsletters, and festivals.

This year, there were about 800 products from throughout the spirits industry. Products came from a wide range of distillers from huge conglomerates to new craft distillers.

During the medal process, products were scrutinized through a blind judging process which determined various levels of medals - Double Platinum, Platinum, Gold, Honorable Mention, or None. The top scoring Double Platinums from each class proceed to a championship round where they will be judged by Fred and other experts for that specific class. Consumers will watch on Fred’s YouTube Channel as the samples are discussed and champions are crowned. 

Overall champions, championship round participants, and Double Platinum medalists will receive extensive year-long exposure through Fred’s various media channels.

Taste Competition is under the leadership of noted spirits personality Fred Minnick who has assembled a Council of Tasters comprised of some of the top spirits tasters in the industry.
