New York, NY – Brian Newman, the Grammy-winning producer, creative director, and acclaimed trumpetist and vocalist, is bringing back the spirit of classic NYC with the return of his residency, "Brian Newman’s After Dark," alongside his burlesque icon wife and co-producer Angie Pontani, now at Mastercard Midnight Theatre starting June 7. Known for creating unique and memorable performances, Newman promises an acclaimed thrill ride of amazing music and genre-crossing special guests including acclaimed burlesque star Angie Pontani, the king of comedy Murray Hill, The After Dark Dancers and a rotating cast of guest stars from stage and screen. Brian Newman has spent over 25 years shaping live music experiences in venues such as hotels, nightclubs, and restaurants. Influenced by legends like Miles Davis and Chet Baker, Newman also draws inspiration from modern artists such as Nirvana and Bruce Springsteen. His extensive collaborations include co-producing "La Vie En Rose" for A Star Is Born and leading Lady Gaga’s jazz band in Las Vegas. He also directs Bruno Mars' band at the Bellagio and curates performances at Aman New York's Jazz Club. His Vegas residency, "Brian Newman: AFTER DARK," is celebrated for its classic Vegas flair.
Angie Pontani is not just a world-famous burlesque star. Angie co-produces the show as well as costumes and directs the After Dark Dancers, contributing to a decade-long partnership that enriches the entertainment landscape. Known as The Italian Stallionette, she is a dynamic force in the world of burlesque and beyond. With her award-winning performances, she mesmerizes audiences globally, setting the gold standard for style and sophistication.
