Lyte -- the reservations technology platform reimagining e-commerce for artists, fans and live events -- names Zahid Zakaria as Vice President of Operations and Customer Strategy, further expanding Lyte’s executive team amidst a year of tremendous growth. Lyte continues to offer undeniable solutions to the re-opening of the live entertainment space post-pandemic.
As Vice President of Operations and Customer Strategy, Zakaria will focus on developing the roadmap, insights, and foundations which underpin Lyte’s Sales and Success practices, while also cultivating a strong partnership with Lyte’s Product and Engineering teams as the company continues to innovate and scale. Additionally, he will optimize client-facing yield management strategies, lay foundations for customer-oriented marketing motions, and build end-to-end organizational workflows critical for growth.
Zakaria joins Lyte as a seasoned Enterprise Saas practitioner with deep experience in business Strategy & Operations. Hailing from Mauritius and now residing in New York, Zakaria has spent the last six years building out the Insights & Analytics and Customer Success Operations practices at Yext. Zakaria holds a degree in Behavioral Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and spent the early years of his career as a consultant with Deloitte’s Washington D.C. office. He has a passion for strategically interpreting customer and product data with a specific focus on leveraging business insights to operationalize client health processes, drive revenue-generating strategies, and differentiate with industry-leading thought leadership.
“Our platform has achieved the hallowed ground of product-market-fit, a moment I have seen several times in my career.” says Wendi Sturgis, Lyte’s President. “Zahid gives ballast to our go-to-market, bringing the tools, strategies and processes we crafted together at Yext to make that company scale.”
“I am excited for the leadership Zahid will bring to our pricing and yield management work at Lyte,” said Ant Taylor, CEO of Lyte. “Our products are fundamentally oriented towards the needs of fans. The magic under the hood is an increasingly sophisticated, algorithmic pricing engine built to optimize event yield and save fans money. Zahid’s work will help us refine the algorithm and lead to many, many more happy fans and full venues.”
Zakaria’s hiring comes during a period of continuous growth for Lyte, whose reservations technology has proven to be vital to artists and fans alike. Recent major announcements include their partnership with major festivals like Pitchfork Music Festival and Life is Beautiful for fan-friendly solutions including returning tickets if their plans change, joining a waitlist for sold-out festivals, and fighting the steep secondary market with Lyte’s reservation system.
