Saara & Begum intentionally merges small-town culture and global identity

Today (8.4), Bangladeshi-American designer, author and entrepreneur Nabela Noorlaunches Saara & Begum with its debut collection, Signature Serve Ware Collection, a set of artisanal, handmade assortment of cutting boards. 

Named after Nabela’s maternal and paternal grandmothers, Saara & Begum will honor the importance of family values and traditions displayed by her family’s matriarchs. Inspired by her grandmother’s love of togetherness and homemaking, Saara & Begum is a natural next step for Nabela, who in 2020, opened her home to followers and attracted millions of questions and comments about her home’s warm and inviting aesthetic, passion for home improvement and her amazing eye for home decor.

“My grandmothers always wanted us to gather, to love, to celebrate, to host and to cook - all of it, together as a family,” says Nabela. “As a first generation Bangladeshi-American, I learned as an adult the beauty of both parts of my identity - and this brand celebrates that. With products handmade in my small town in Pennsylvania and artisanal creations made all the way in Bangladesh, Saara & Begum is here to merge my two priceless worlds to turn houses around the country into cozy, thoughtfully designed homes.” 

Handmade in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by Amish craftsmen, the Signature Serve Ware Collection collection features five boards in varying styles that will be available in two colors. Starting at $35, these wooden boards are luxurious, one-of-a-kind and substantial. Each cutting board is handcrafted using natural maple or cherry wood and is a celebration of small town, Pennsylvania craftsmanship with quality, handmade, luxury wood boards that capture the essence of cozy, slowed down living.

The Signature Serve Ware Collection includes: 

• The Amra Board ($175): the largest piece, this is the most versatile piece yet, stretching 22" in width and 32" in height, store this beauty on your countertop for display and convenience. This beautiful Bengali word translates to "we" and "us", and is designed to bring your family and friends together with a feeling of belonging and togetherness. Amra makes for the most elegant picnic, large gathering, or table top cutting board.
• The Dhaka Board ($75): a classic, timeless style perfect for preparing a meal or serving a beautiful charcuterie board. Named after the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka is the perfect medium-sized serve ware piece.
