NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2023) – Nashville Soccer Club revealed today its musical lineup ahead of its Man in Black Match this Saturday, Feb. 25, at 3:30 p.m. CT at Nashville’s GEODIS Park. In the spirit of the match, which will serve to honor the life and legacy of Johnny Cash on the eve of Johnny Cash’s 91st birthday, his son John Carter Cash will perform the Nashville SC Guitar Riff in front of an expected capacity crowd. Additionally, John Carter Cash will be joined on stage by his wife Ana Cristina Cash for a halftime performance and tribute to his dad.
The historic season opener against New York City FC marks the first time that Nashville SC will don their new Man in Black Kit. Created in collaboration with the estate of Johnny Cash, Sandbox Succession, and Wasserman Music, the Man in Black Kit was designed to honor one of the most influential singer-songwriters of all time, Johnny Cash.
In addition to the Guitar Riff and the halftime show, country singer, songwriter Abbey Cone will perform the National Anthem. Sister duo Tigirlily Gold will get the party started outside of GEODIS Park with a performance in the Opening Act on the North Plaza, while Walker Montgomery will take the stage in the GEODIS WeHo Club. DJ-Wooddrowe will add to the entertainment with music throughout the stadium as the gates open.
